Design & Documentation Studio
Formitopia is a NYC creative studio working at the intersection of architecture, interiors, and computational design.
We operate in two modes: Design (creating spatial concepts, visualizations, competition entries) and Documentation (BIM modeling, construction documents, automation). You can engage one or both.
The studio is built on the belief that design and technical execution shouldn't be disconnected. When we do both, nothing gets lost in translation.
We're interested in transformation.
Not decoration. Not trends. The precise shift that makes something familiar feel newly charged — where materials meet, planes intersect, and light cuts through volume.
Whether designing a space or producing its documents, we bring the same attention to geometry, proportion, and intent.
Approach
Design and production are not separate disciplines — they're two expressions of the same intent. Too often, a design gets diluted as it moves from concept to construction. Details simplified, intentions lost, compromises made without understanding what they affect.
We work to close that gap. By maintaining fluency in both design thinking and technical execution, we make decisions that serve both — and catch the moments where one threatens the other.
The result is work that arrives at site the way it left the studio: precise, considered, and intact.
